Lest people think I'm a terminal old git, I'll start by saying I had a whale of a time on Friday and Saturday.
HOWEVER...
1) What happened to the 'free' grandstands oppposite the house?
2) Don't know about Sunday but Friday and Saturday the trailer shuttle up to the Rally Stage was conspicuous by its absence - a fact which Mason and Robson were ignorant of as they kept exhorting its use in the slack jaw interludes.
3) I thought we were safe from being 'sung at' at FoS. No such luck, a murdering of 'My Indiana Home' left me longiing for NIHL to kick in
4) Electric guitar mashing of the Star Spangled Banner is meant to be ironic! Its inclusion as part of the 'Indianopolis experience' was WOTM to say the least.

That said, the Indy cars, the Chapparals and the Rally stage were all top class entertainment. Just hope further squeezes on the baseline payers don't manifest themselves perrenially

Unlike previous years the trailer shuttle up to the rally stage left from behind the F1 Paddock and climbed the hill on the west side of the track dropping you off just beyond the service area/holding paddock.

The tractor rides took a different route this time and were positioned on the other side of the track. It was on all the printed maps.

The worst part was just not being able to see. They just need to have a slightly raised platform so you can see over the bales on the hillclimb route.

The parking marshalls make sure you are in your spot safely and orderly, where are they at going home time? in car park H there were two kids in Orange bibs laying on the floof next to a van, the exit was chaos.

We gave up years ago. We forked out for grandstand seats and all we saw were crash helmets passing by. Havn't bothered since.

Whoops! Sorry - sort of a double click event there. I'll get my coat.

Ah so, apologies then regarding my inability to recognise that a big diversion was needed from the car park M entrance to find the blasted shuttle. My error in not reading any printed information. Still doesn't excuse the catawauling we endured over the PA though

Next time i go I doubt I'll bother going up the hill. You can see the cars just as well near the start, and you're then much closer to all the paddocks! They really could do with sorting the views out though as it's just getting worse now there are so many people. I remember when I first started going there would be no one at the top of the hill, now it's crazy busy up there!

I think the thing about going up the hill is to see the cars on the rally stage.

I allocated a big chunk of Friday from my 4 days there to take a look around the rally stage and the paddocks up the top. Walked up and back taking a break to watch any cars going up the hill at the time.

The music was turned down a bit from Friday, when a Q&A with Petrov in the Lotus stand had to be ended before time as it was so loud.

There were not many complaints from us, we had an awesome day in the Thursday and Sunday, however if I was to nitpick:

Toilet facilities were lacking.

View of the track was not great in general.

One kid climbed on the bonnet of Chris Evans F40, parents and staff did nothing to stop the little st. I saw a general lack of respect been shown for the privately owned cars. There should be more "look but don't touch" signs.

Why did we want to hear the American National Anthem on the Sunday?

only 1 thing annoyed me all weekend really, people setting up camp with their deckchairs at the fence by the top hillclimb paddock! theres not very much room as there is! selfish people! if they stood up, more people can get a better view!

... and the new pathway out of the centre of the rally stage should be signposted better! I walked all the way around on friday thinking there was a crossing near the start finish (which there wasnt this year!) not knowing about the pathway out!

These were my gripes really, first time in years that I only went on Sunday didn't even make it to the rally course.

Have to agree with the comments about the shuttle. Why change it all? Seems to have worked fine every other year. The Mrs and I came in from car park M which brings you out part way up the hill, as we went to the rally stage first as always. First we knew of the change of shuttle arrangements was when we arrived at the usual location.
This aside however, one if the best FOS yet!

I think viewing is big one for me, unless you are a die-hard and stay put for a long time, you inevitably will find it hard to see the stuff on the track. This would not be hard to improve.

I also found the singing and cat torture guitar stuff annoying and pretty pretentious.

I did mention in a meeting a couple of years back, that the tractor shuttles would be better if they started lower down the hill. I think the majority of people who used them agreed that it was better to not have to hike half way up the hill before you got to them, especially if you have young children.

For me the change was perfect - for the first time ever was able to get my Father up there and he loved it - Brilliant weekend

I think this is awful.. I think anyone caught doing this should banned from future events.
The beauty of Goodwood is how close you can get to these things, but also the trust that the car owners (Particulary Evans, with probably the best part of £15 million pounds worth of cars on the lawn) have for the spectators...
