I thought driving around in smaller and smaller circles until he got stopped by a straw bail was 'special'.

We were in the grandstand next to the spectacle. We all looked at each other and put our head in our hands...

There was sad laughter at Molecomb amongst those that remembered. The headshaking was reserved for a the whiney brummy excuses over the PA later on.

Worse.

He tried to do a smokey burnout on a small section of tarmac adjacent to the driveway; the rally car boys had done the same earlier. Mansell's effort led to a lame slow motion understeer into the straw bales and he had to reverse out.

He blamed the tyres (too hot) and the engine (not enough power.

Was very funny - just like when he stacked the Lotus a few years back at the forementioned Molecomb.

Someone show him where the TC button/OFF is FFS.
Same with Hamilton in the Mac racer, conked out up the hill, stationary on grass.
Same with Brundle who went the entire route in his 24 hr race winning thing on the limp home mode 50 kph ?? ...
I mean you guys, professionals ...

I was at the top of the hill when it happened but luckily this chap has put up a video. Needless to say he looked pretty sheepish when he got out!
