Hi guys

I'm off to the FoS on Saturday and just wondered if any of you who've been to Friday have any recommendations on exhibits of particular interest.

I realise that taste in these things can vary considerably, but I'd appreciate your thoughts - might save me some leg work on the day!

Thanks

The Indy 500 cars are fabulous, my favourite being the Hurst Floor Shift Special. The driver sits in a pod attached to the side of car. Utterly bonkers.

That was just nuts, and no way! The new Pagani Huarararara (whatever the damn thing is called) is very cool.

Also liking the Stirling Moss Merc. Ohh and the bonkers bus like Buckminster Fuller designed tri wheeler in the Cartier area is worth a look too.

Well, rare, there's the Jaguar XJ13 which is gorgeous and a one off (and was covered up when I was there frown ).

Bonkers - Little comes close the the Hurst Floor Shifter, but Mestophiles (1903 FIAT based LSR car) is a contender.

Unusual - Yes, the Tatra and green bus (which isn't) thingy in the concourse, but what about the horrible home-made looking Spyker prototype? Really unusual - All the mechanical elements are there, but none of the ostentatious bling!

If they run the Mazda 787B (And I'm sure they will) you're in for a treat (once your ears stop ringing! smile ).

You'll have your own favourites though smile

Do you know what the hands at the front are for? I couldn't work it out?

^^^this.

Plus:

- 6 wheeled Covini supercar (think it might have been there in previous years?) - supercar paddock

- the 1/2 million E-type recreation that was on Top Gear last sunday - Cartier area

- 3 wheeler morgarns including a "Superdry" styled version (clash of cultures here?) - Morgan stand

- and Lightning McQueen of course!

So many things to do. The Rally paddock is well worth the knackering walk up to it even if it is sponsored by Skoda. The Supercar [paddock was excellent and the Cartier exhibits had loads of rare stuff, Got to love the Alfa Romeo 33 stradale awesome car: http://www.flickr.com/photos/peejays/5889423496/si...

Guys - thanks for the recommendations - it was good fun trying to track them down.
Weather was fantastic.

For me, I loved the Probe concept on the Style et Luxe section as well as Chris Evans' Ferrari collection.
The F1 paddock and LM cars were awesome as always and capped it off with a close up in the paddock of Sir Stirling Moss as he was returning from his last run of the day - probably the rarest and also one of the oldest exhibits at the FoS.

Cracking day!
