It's a car show. The only cars going up the hill are regular offerings from the manufactures. It's not the FoS, but there are usually a bit of action in the air as well and a nice place to wander about.

Some/Most of the competing cars will already be in the paddocks and all the other things that feature in the weekend are in place.

Thursday is ok as you can drive road cars up the hill if you get their early enough to book a drive. I got a drive so far with MG &, i think, Volvo although i am waiting for them to call me back to confirm this.

You can also wander around the FoS site as well. This is good on the thursday as many of the cars will already be out for display & there will be far less people around making photography etc much easier.

Thursday is good, Friday Saturday & Sunday are a petrolhead's wet dream!!!!

If the weather stays dry it will be an awesome weekend with the added bonus of some cracking air displays as well.

There were quite a lot of spare slots last year, but only if you were there as soon as it opened as they filled up very, very quickly.

The supercars that are in the supercar paddock will be parked up there on Thursday, but if it's like last year they won't be going up the hill. Audi had some r8's to ride in as a passenger last year but I don't remember any others.

last year was quite good for just find a good pitch and waiting for some good cars to come up the hill, ok you wont see any supercars running and every other car was something very average/sensible but the audi r8 and iirc 458 were given some serious stick! and generally driven up the hill quicker than the weekend. chances are very good that the new bmw M5 and M1 will be there(atleast i hope so)

also 90% of my pictures were taken at the moving motor show, and i was there for the whole weekend

I've got tickets for the Moving Motorshow - Thanks AutoTrader smile

Anyone got any tips on what will be there? Last year about a third of the exhibits were present on the Thursday.

I was going to go on Friday this year, but work got in the way, so I wonder if anyone's aware of any particularly tasty motors which will be there by Thursday?

I've just got back today and I reckon that there were about 3/4 of the cars in the main paddock (maybe more) by the time we left about 3:30.

My daughter accused me of being like a child in the Sportscar/Touring car paddock (Cathedral?) As they uncovered the Lancia LC2 whilst I was there (Sadly the 917, XJ13 and Group 44 E-Type weren't, but may have been later in the day, we didn't get back there) and there were 3 TWR Group C jags, a Group 44 XJR-5 and the Le Mans winning 787B (And another one on the Mazda stand - Was that just a show car or one of the white and blue 787Bs repainted?).

Had a great day this year (made easier by not having a broken knee AND gout last year! redface), Jaguar stand were really friendly (drank their tea and ate their fruit spikes), had a shoofty around a Sunseeker yacht (Come on Euro-Millions!) and generally enjoyed seeing some amazing cars.

I must admit, this year I'm wondering if it's worth going on the main days as I know I won't be able to get as near any of the cars as I did today!

Favourite car? Almost impossible to say, but it was great to get up so close to the Group C racers and the 2011 Le Mans winner.

Weirdest was the Yunick Hurst Floor Shift Special Indy Car!

Enjoyable day and as mentioned elsewhere it was an opportunity to photograph exhibits without too many obstructions. Supercar paddock was missing some significant makes.

What time did you take that photo?

The Peugeot and McLaren behind were covered up when we went by at 3:30PM, but not there at 9:00 AM.
