Going for the first time this year on both Friday and Saturday. Will be coming from home on Friday and staying in the area Friday night. Realise that it is best to get there early on Saturday but what is a reasonable time to arrive on Friday? As we have about a 2 1/2 hour journey I'm hoping not to have to leave home at silly o'clock!

Thanks

Last year I was arriving at about 7 and getting straight in, no problem with queues or anything. I wouldn't leave it much later than that though.

+1

You get to experience all the smells, sights and sounds of the cars starting up first thing in the morning and get to see some drivers / owners who [In my experience] are more amenable to chat as that would be the first time that day they have been asked that question

Otherwise expect to live with and hour plus in the traffic

Its not bad considering the number of people getting in and out.

Plan to arrive at about 7am would be my advice too. I'll be firing the Griff up at 4am to set off on my 3 hour journey. The neighbours are going to be pleased !! evil

Getting there at 8 I struggle to see everything in one day; unless you're going for the pies and beer of course...

I'll be there at 7am, so I can get some early morning shots and have a good nose around before it starts getting quite busy.

I'm really confused, I arrived at about 10am last year on the Friday and didn't have to queue at all...

This year I'll be there at 7-7.30 though.

Sheee it'll be nice to finally meet up, I've watched your video and love the one you just did with the Gumball 3000 hoon to Paris. Message me you contact number and we'll hook up over a beer or 2 on Friday biggrin

Queues die by then. Gates open at 0630 so unless you're super keen, expect some form of slow traffic.

The man talks sense thumbup. Arrive at about 11:00 - 11:30 then leave as late as possible. It makes for a far less stressful journey and you avoid getting up at the crack of dawn to set off. Don't all do it though, as that defeats the object scratchchin.

Thanks for all the advice, we went for the later option and apart from a hold up through Petworth, it really wasn't too bad at all.

As a first time visitor I am now hooked - what a fantastic weekend! smile
