Well I finally made it to the dyno today. Not too impressed, but I am told the type of dyno, a Mustang dyno is more accurate than a Dynojet and is usually approx 12% lower than what a Dynojet would report. Anyway, I had a max of 225 hp at the rear wheels. I did the first pull to 5600 rpm and the second to 6200, all in 3rd gear. The readout showed that it was getting a bit lean in the higher rpm, so I only did the 3rd pull to 5600. Unfortunatly I only recorded the last run in Freescan. Anyway, here is the link to the log. Anyone care to look at it and give me any obsersvations? http://skynetworks.gotdns.com/log.zip
Once I get the actual dyno reports emailed to me, I will post them too. They will have all info, torque etc.

Shouldn't the pull be done in 4th, as it is the closest to 1:1?

Also, from what I hear the Dynojets use a formula that compensates for pressure, temp, etc. Maybe that's why they generally give higher numbers.

Mustang dynos typically generate 'rich' conditions due to the additional load. Going lean in the upper revs is not normal.

I'd say 12% difference is a good rule of thumb,( I've read as low as 8% to as high as 20%) but both are just tools, and setup/operation/maintenance etc... play a big role in the dyno vs. dyno debate. Unless one were to dyno their car on both within minutes of each other, on perfectly setup dynos, there is really no way to read the gap between brands.

All that being said, 12%seems to be close, that would put you around 252whp. Who knows?

Dynojet #'s seem to be more accepted in various forums, for the simple fact that most people dyno on them instead of a mustang dyno.

None of these numbers (from any dyno) are gospel. The dyno represents only a snap-shot of what your car was doing at that moment/ on that dyno/ in that weather...etc

Wow, I was suprised this post was back in action. However, I have noticed a HUGH performance increase since it has cooled down here. I knew cooler weather helped turbo'd cars, but it seems to be a lot more noticable in the Esprit. Also, since having my alternator rebuilt, it seems to be running better. Seems smoother, and quicker.
