I love a clean car. I just bought a pre-owned 1989 Turbo Esprit. Drove it 1400 miles and it was flawless. Got home to Hollywood, went to a car wash and she started really sluggish as if the the idle couldn't quite get it right. Tried to give gas and she flooded. The mechanic did a diagnostic and replaced the fuel sensor. "Car wash was a coincidence..." Drove the car for two miles, back to the car wash, everything okay, then two minutes later, same thing. This time I just let it idle for five minutes, then shut off the engine. Came back three hours later and she started up perfectly.

Any ideas? I'd be most appreciative. Does this mean I can't drive it in the rain? It does rain in California... smile

Lol cant believe you took it through a car wash!! laugh Poor car! If you insist lazy washing your car atleast put a large towel over the engine and shut the lid.

If you got water in the plugs yes you will have trouble, but hard to say sorry.
