First driving impressions of my new S4!
Discussion
WOW!
That pretty much sums it up right there. I love it! I look at the car sitting in my garage more like a work of art then an automobile. I have been slowly testing the limits of the handleing and I can say that I have come no where near the limits of the car which really amazes me.
I had it tinted today, and we are detailing the paint work tomorrow.
The reaction from passers by is amazing. I actually had a kid on his bike almost wreck in my neighborhood when he saw it. He came over and I asked him if he knew what kind of car it was, and he responded " Hell yeh thats a Lotus Esprit ! " I was impressed and let him sit in it.
This car is very different from all of the muscle cars that I have owned but I love it!
Glad there is a decent forum dedicated to it as well.
Thanks guys,
Andy Wheeler

Roy I am in the Washington D.C. Metro area. I moved up here from Houston Texas about 2 1/2 years ago.
I live in Laurel Maryland.
Pretty cool you saw another esprit on the road though. Dont see very many to say the least.
Well the tint turned out awesome we slaved over it for almost the whole day to get it perfect! The paint detailing went really well. A trained person with alot of knowledge buffing cars is an amazing thing. The car I bought was nice but it had been stored outside for the last year, and it really showed. Lots of oxedation, and acid rain spots. We were able to get them all out. We wet sanded the big scraches and buffed the rest, and it turned out looking like new.
We are going to touch up the last couple of spots tomorrow hopefully.

Azzkicker,
Glad you like the new toy! I'm registering my SE Wednesday (getting the 15 day inspection tags) and am turning it over to Jaime on the 23rd for the B service and inspection. After that we'll have to get together sometime and talk about our new toys!
BTW, you should also subscribe to the Yahoo mailing list if you haven't already, and I also plan to join the local Lotus Ltd. chapter.
But definately, we should get some pics of the cars sometime...

I've seen Dindo's car with the HRE's on - it looks VERY good. You were lucky you got in there before me, or i would have made him an offer for them myself
Your car's going to look fantastic - all black with HUGE silver rims..!
Cheers
Rob
Rob I didnt know you were interested in them. Well I am sorry I took them from you. I am jelouse that you have seen them in person I cant wait to get them.
I had a hard time not drooling on my key board when dindo sent me the pics of his car.

I will meet up with you here in laurel then. I often drive out to Waldorf to race at MIR so I can probably meet you out there sometime as well!

Heheh,
This stuff is funny. It seems like we are all neighbors but we really don't know where anyone is. It would be great for every owner of an Esprit to get together one day. For geographical concerns and all due fairness, we should centralize the location of the meeting. How does Ventura, CA sound!
