I have recently purchased a 1997 Esprit V8SE.I have just had a new turbo wastegate actuator fitted. The car goes well. What I have noticed is that the boost pressure on the dial only goes to about 0.5 on hard acceleration & drops as the revs get higher. Is this the norm ?

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't after increasing it from standard, however, the alternative ECM from the 350 sport sounds like a good idea.

Just had the "street/torque" (That's how LCU refers to it) ECU upgrade done to my '98, and it is well worth the cost.

<- this is me driving!

Not your imagination. I had the K&N filters installed when I did the ECU swap. The stock filters are like brick walls. The new K&N's also give a wonderful wooshing sound!

Cheers

If you are in the US, you can get them from JAE parts. If you are in the UK, you can get them at:

Thanks Ernest ,Here's a question for you,
Would you go for K&Ns or AMSOIL ??

By the way , for your info , I just had an Hayward & Scott S/S sports rear box with 3" tail pipes fitted and there was no noise difference apart from a change to a deeper basier exhaust note! A little disappointing
but the looks are mean and noise more mature .

Thanks again for your reply.
Cheers

Dear Ernest,
I'm very interested in your ECU upgrade.
what sort of difference did you notice?
Is it a new chip, or Lotus's own later model ECM?
As I'm a sunny day early suday morning driver with occasional easy trackday driver I'm considering the Motoconcept Germany's chip or maybe even the Lotus Factory Red ECM.
Do you or anyone out there know anyone who has actually tried these. With Motoconcept, you have to ship your ECM TO THEM, which I'm not keen on.
Im also thinking of either using sports cats or using cat by-pass pipes . Has anyone tried this.
By the way, I sent an e-mail to superchips telling them I was disappointed with them for not making a chip for the V8TT.

Hi bijan

Where are you based? If you're in the Uk, drop me a line off list - i've got the sport350/2002 spec ecu upgrade in my car, a 1998 V8-GT plus i also have K&N Filters. Both mods well worth doing IMO.

How much did you pay for the hayward and scott exhaust? Is it any good??!

Cheers

Dear Rob,
I live in Walton-On-Thames Surrey . Very near Junct.11 of the M25 Motorway.

We should meet up . You can listen to my exhaust and I could checkout your mods. The Exhaust was a cancelled order and I paid £400-00. However, they are normally about £700-00 fitted but I'm sure you can do a deal with them. They are a good firm who do sports pipes for V12 Ferraris Porsches and Subaurus.

Cheers
