Yeah theres 10 for sale at any one time? ....not frown

........good original examples like these never come up for sale and when they do they ask huge money and usually have buyers lined up. A LHD one came up for sale the other day but I think the advert lasted only for a few days??

Someone will correct me I am sure smile

Good luck

not really true

the last car to come up for sale took a very long time to sell
the price had to be dropped several thousand and it eventually went for 24,500
it was avery good 35k mile example that had just had 5k spent on its brakes !!!
the price started out at ~30k some 2 year earlier !

there is also another for sale at the moment thats been aroudn for a long long time. Started at 30k, now down to 22k. Ok, so it was in an accident but its probably one of the best out there mechanically.

the sport300 is a car that every says they "want" in forums but when it comes to coughiung up the money its more of a fantasy idea. Ask a dealer what they will bid on them... they just see them as a slot above the S4S and as such, will bid well under 20k.

the LHD black one didn't sell. The ad was quickly withdrawn and the seller is not actually serious about selling.

Im talking about "good examples" Theres a read on LEW about the extent of the damage about the lime green one. If the owner had got Lotus to put it back to original instead of really making in to a pimp my ride mobile they would have had a better chance of selling it. Such a shame.

I tend to agree with your earlier comment about people talking a good game about how rare they are but not actually parting with their cash for them. Whilst I'm sure that they are great to drive and own they are not as rare as say Essex Esprits given that there was almost twice as many Sport 300's built (c64 vs c35).

I considered the yellow S300 you mention when deciding to buy another Esprit and in the end went for an Essex and haven't regrettd it for one moment. The cost, complexity and availability of spare parts was in part a factor but ultimately with enough cash anything can be done

I don't wish to upset anybody here, - its just my personal opinion.

I have viewed the green one and I can assure you it is the best Esprit of any type available, the car is like new and the colour looks great too.
I hated it until I viewed it, the interior is a bit much though and the rear lights and spoiler would need putting back to original.
Steve at SJ Sportscars says it is the best Esprit he has ever seen.

Could you use the cills off a stevens turbo esprit, are they the same?, I don't like the cills that are used on the green one.

You rekon? The top pic of course is a bigger picture wink

I thought the sills are early stevens SE, as with the X180R too. The updated sill came about on the S4 in 93 which is the same sill used on the V8.

will make some more calls on monday

thing is SJ sportscars and Lotus both say they arent available
SJ supply body parts to Lotus

so if you could use stevens sills on the S300 then they would know about it I would have thought

maybe they are teh same but also not available anymore... put it that way

there's one for sale on top marques. He's asking £35k.

Is that over the odds?
