V8 Missfire

Hi, not been on for a long time. In fact I had to register. Ive just bought a 98 v8 se (and have also got an s3 turbo now for sale).

The garage is a bit full at the moment and i havent got a handbook or service manual yet and the v8 has developed a missfire. It starts fine and runs great for about 5 miles then missfires under acceleration/load are then any common problems that cause this?

Could be a number of things, just listening to other peoples similar issues they have sourced to the following:
Bad injectors, leads, fuel filter clogged. Worst case faulty ECU - these can be repaired though. Having a good scan tool to plug in is great and will give you feed back how the 02 sensors are operating etc incase one is gone bad. Also has this activated the check engine light?
Get yourself a CD manual. Do a search heaps of people are selling them over the net. Try Lotusespritworld for starters.

Thanks I did get a CD manual off the net last night as a start, makes a change to the £50 I paid for the S3 manual when I bought it. Ill let you know after the weekend.
