esprit fuel pump ?
Discussion
Wally,
Pump problems are no more prevalent than with most. It's a common GM pump, and yes, it's in the O/S tank.
The fuel pressure regulator is at the back end of the fuel rail... the cast aluminum pipe that sits across the top of the four primary injectors. There's a Schrader Valve (like a tire valve stem) sticking out of the right side and a small hose connection on the left side. If the small hose has cracked or come adrift at either end, the pressure regulator will not function properly.
The fuel filter plugs up more often than the pump dies. Especially if it's the original filter, in which case it' well past due for replacement. The filter is easy to replace and inexpensive, so I'd start there.
After that... like Calvin said... tell us more.
Good luck,
Tim Engel
