Noticed you had crashed your blue esprit this afternoon. Must have just missed it by a couple of minutes. Road was blocked for 5 mins while you pushed it out of the way. Noticed you was ok but your car looked a mess front and back. Hope its only cosmetic.

Hi Kojak

It was me - boo hoo !!

Did you notice the stream of running across the carriageway?

As i went through it, the back end came around, nothing I could do apart from baing a passenger.

She is at the Lotus factory now awaiting assessment, but I fear the worst.

Sorry that I held you up.

Hi Glyn.

I did notice it was a bit wet and it seemed to happen very quickly. I was about 20 cars back from when you was pushing it out of the way. Didnt see the crash and didnt notice it was a Lotus until I was weaving past the debrit in the road. Was only talking about you sunday evening to my daughter as we saw you out and about 7.30. Mate of mine smashed his Griff up on there last winter in similar circumstances. Any way, glad you was ok, and hope the cars not as bad as it looked.

Hey Glyn,

Sorry to learn of your incident, although i feel its not as bad as it looks. My mate fronted his V8 and the factory put it back on the road after a bit of wrangling with the insurance company. Just plead your case to them, if they can replace it, they can write it off, otherwise fix it. My mate said you can't rely on the values anymore as they're becoming rarer and harder to source. Its in the best place as it makes sense sending her home to be re-built, they're bloody excellent at the factory.

Glad to hear you're ok mate, keep us posted on its progress.

Well the insurance company wrote her off, more than £16k to repair.

To be honest, with the way it happened, I wouldn't trust a V8 again.

Got the insurance cheque about 3 weeks ago now, and looking for a GT3 Esprit.

At the end of the day i want to be bale to use it every day without worrying if its going to rain or not.

My S4s never reacted that way to water, so i think a GT3 is the way forward

Just got to keep my eyes peeled.

Cheers for now

Sorry to hear that Glyn, i've seen a couple of GT3's for sale but they have some mileage on them, but ones bound to pop up sooner or later.

Best of luck in your search.
