February issue out now. 13 pages of our favourite car. No new info as such, just a positive write up, plus some great pics of other 70's 'wedges'.

There's been a flurry of vintage Lotus articles of late. I've enjoyed reading them and hope it continues.

That Octane issues has three good articles. Besides the Elite, there are articles on Jim Clark's D-type Jag and Steve McQueens cars. There are also "shorts" about John Miles, Carrol Shelby, Jay Leno, Nick Mason and Denis Jenkinson. Good stuff.

Tim Engel

The yellow Esprit S1 in the Feb Octane is stunning - and that interior!

It's had a no-expense-spared restoration.

The same car is also featured in the latest issue of Car magazine.

I went trawling through the airport yesterday looking for it, couldn't find a copy anywhere. I'll have to get a copy sent out this week i think.

Yes the car was restored by Bell and Colville for an American Business man who is also the owner of the newest Lotus Dealership in the US.

I believe the cost was nearly $100,000 and it was a total chassis off resto. The car was like Brand new when he was presented it at the lotus Open day. it looked simply stunning.

I was fortunate enough to be shown around the restored S1 by Scott at Bell and Colvill when I was passing by a few months ago. It is absolutely stunning!
