Last night I joined about a dozen Lotus owners who hosted a dinner meeting with Travis (LotusSE89)who was on a short work assignment in our town. He has been a great help to many and his technical expertise is excellent. I had almost forgot we had met once before at the Wisconsin LOG a few years ago. Meeting anyone from the list or forum in person is a great opportunity and a fun time.

Although at this dinner I was told some sad news as the present owner of my former car informed me that he was involved in minor parking lot accident. A driver had not seen him and backed his car into the Esprit with the impact propelling him into another car damaging both front and back of the Esprit. To add insult to injury the other driver then spouted all sorts of reasons why it was not his fault for hitting the Esprit. Clearly it was not the fault of the present owner of my former car but disturbing news as we all form attachemnts to these cars we own or once owned. Hopefully the car will be as good as new.

Hey excellent news you caught up with Travis, that would have been a great night. Any fun mug shot pics of the night out?
Be cool to catch up with you guys one day. Secondly that is really bad news to hear about your old SE Calvin, that would gut me as well and I know what you mean about still feeling attached to that car. I would be swearing horrible stuff if the new owner told me he wrote it off or something, but what can you do!! Lets hope everything can be repaired easily and done promptly.

Regards,
K

Yeah, it was a good time.

Met Tim Engel, Dave Cammack, Calvin, Jay Gallentine, Jamie (Shadeone), Mike Greise... All Esprit Owners currently or in between like Calvin.

Drank some Guinness, ate some steak, talked Lotus...

Really good to meet some of the people that have helped me through the years, and those that I have helped as well. It would be much more difficult to own a Lotus without the support of the groups.
No pictures though.

Travis
