I've just been sent this by my dad. Does it make sense? Anyone got any ideas?

I have just been chatting with Anthony. You may recall he drives a 1986 Lotus Turbo Esprit. The car has a turbo problem at present and Anthony needs to replace the Garret Air Waste Gate it is for a T3 Turbo. Unfortunately they are no longer being manufactured. Do you know where he could get one?

Garrett turbos and waste gates are used on many diesel trucks. Check with the local diesel repair shops for a certified Garrett technician and have him rebuild it. They do it all the time.

I live in the US. There's a local Diesel shop to which guys from our Lotus club take their turbos. The shop rebuilds the turbo, modifies the housing to accept a ceramic ball bearing, rebuilds the waste gate and adjusts the pressure (to spec, or to any value you request), all for under US$400. And the bits come back cleaned up and painted, looking brand new.

Good luck,
