Dizeee,
£18k in 3 years will get you a good Esprit. You may be able to pick up a Sport 350 for about that sort of money in 3 years.

There is also the GT3 with a 2.0 Turbo. This car is said to be the most reliable of the Esprits and good handling due to the lower weight.
There are also 2.0 and 2.2 non turbo cars out there, but these were all built in 1990 or earlier. So may be a bit old for you.

Esprit, generally like to be used and are said to cause more trouble if you treat them as a "garage princess" and only take them out once a month. However, running cost of an Esprit will be higher than your average car. So do budget for these higher costs.

I've never driven a Noble so can't comment on the advantages and disadvantages. There was one guy on the Lotus Esprit Forum (LEF) that changed from a Esprit Sport 350 to a Noble so if you search LEF you might be able to find his contact details.

The best sources of Esprit information are:

LEF: http://www.lotusespritforum.com/forums/
LEW: http://lotusespritworld.co.uk

Regards,
Peter.

Don't buy an Esprit for fuel economy, buy it for the thrill.

Lee Noble used to work for Lotus, so it is not surprising that his cars share a lot of the qualities of the Esprit. Having never driven one, and just going off of reviews, I would say the M15 is probably closer to the Esprit in terms of driving style and comfort.

My advice - try both. Wish we got the M14/M15 in the States (non kitcar)

Did he? When?

He raced a Lotus Europa in his early days and then went on to build Lotus 23 look-alikes but I've had acquaintance with Lee Noble since the late '80's and I've never heard it said, by him or others, that he used to work for Lotus? confused

yes Very similar. I normally put in £50 to £60 max & thats good for 220 to 260 miles. My S4 is the standard 2.2 turbo unlike the GT3's 2.0 turbo.
