Hi!

Does anybody know where the oil pressure sensor locatated on V8?

Recently when i driving (Esprit V8 1998) for 30 min the oil light blinks for some reason and now is on all the time.
It used go off if i gave some gas. But it stays on even above 3000rpm.
And then the oil light is off from cold start.
I did check the oil level and its fine. There is no oil leakage or consumption issues. I'v been using Mobile 1 5w-30 all the time.
Bad oil pressure sensor maybe? or something else?

The oil pressure sender is on the left side of the engine block just forward and above the oil filter and engine mount. It's a real pain to access and remove. I just replaced a leaking sensor on a friend's car and had to remove the oil filter housing and engine mount to be able to get a socket on the sensor. It requires a 1" socket.

I wouldn't drive it unless you can confirm it's a sensor problem and not actually low oil pressure.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Yes it was a false oil sensor.
Just replacing oil sensor with new one and it works fine now.
What a relieve!
Thanks once again for your input.

Michael.
