SIR light still ON!!!

I installed a MOMO wheel on my 90'Esprit and installed a 2.2K ohm 1/2 watt 5% tolerance resistor inline on the air bag wires as instructed in a lotus article I came across and my SIR light is still ON!! Anybody have any suggestions, is this the right resistor?

The write-up I have says two resistors, 10K ohm, 1/4 watt, 5%. Email me direct if you like and I will send you the file.
