I've just loads of work and new parts put on my GT3 in order to get it ready for the Furball run.

My bill for the parts alone came to just under £5k !!! Am I mad? I just can't help it as I love the car but even that bill made me cringe. Guess I'll be keeping the car for another 2 years, just to get my money's worth. lol

Apparently the Lotus Eibach / Bilstein and new bushes medicine, works a treat on the handling which had gone off with age.

New radiators, oil coolers blah blah blah.

Whoever buys my car off me when I sell it will be laughing.

So the front springs finally arrived then? wink

Would be v.interested to hear what you think of the new suspension set up... next thing on our 'to do' list. But currently recovering from a £2k C service (unearthed quite a few other issues) so won't be quite yet!

Are they worth it? You bet! biggrin

6K in UK pounds is like 12K in USD right???

That is a lot. Prices appear to be much higher in the UK for such services and parts. Taxes maybe???

Prices are always higher in the UK for most things, at least.

As a rough guide, what you pay in $(60), we'll be paying the same amount 1n £(6).

Aside from all that, I have had a lot of work done. I've done over 71k miles and things needed replacing.

I've been lucky to be in a position where I can keep the car up to speed no matter what the expence. You can see it on the GT3 owners page on www.lotusespritworld.co.uk (Nick)

Are you talking about Gerald? Nice to have someone to trust and won't rip you off. Worth his weight in gold that man. Not forgetting Neil too.

I haven't let anyone else touch the car in 5 years.

I have had the new springs and dampers on the back and due to the wishbone snapping, I have brought October's planned front end fitting. The rears alone have made a substantial difference. Can't wait to see what all 4 are like. Will report.

Me too, I'll report after the Furball. I'm abroad until then.

Gerald (my mechanic) says that the car sits about half an inch higher which I can live with, that'll settle down, but he swears by the handling.

He also says that the oil pressure is better after replacing the oil coolers and associated pipes.

Can't wait to get home and try it out now.
