In the cack.....again. Just about safe to go back in the kitchen (five grand on a gearbox and 1200 on new cats and filters when...BANG !! Left lower wishbone snaps. Fortunately at crawling speed. Has anyone else had this happen and if it does, would you replace both sides ? What else would you replace in the process? (I was always planning to get the new shocks and springs for the front to complement the rears.

Wishbone cracking.
That's unusual I haven't heard of that as a problem area. Ever have a hard hit in that area?

I could put you onto a genuine Lotus mechanic who is totally trustworthy and could help you out with advice but your some distance from him, he's in Newmarket.

I was planning to replace the front springs and dampers anyway this year and fixing it should not be a problem but thanks anyway. I just wanted to know if anyone has seen this happen before and why it should occur. I never kerb the car but we have some dreadful speed ramps in our road, could the blame possibly be laid at their door. Can't see it myself but the thought of suing the council who ignored my 800 signature petition is too tempting!!

I can agree on that one, totally honest and charges a fair price.
