I firstly had the Pontenzas on my Esprit and found they weren't up to the job so decided to change them.

I was reccommended the Goodyear Eagle F1s but already had them on my Golf and they were poor in the wet.

I went for the Toyo T1-S and found they were great. Good feed back, very confidence inspiring and good in the wet. Loads of grip. I liked them so much I put them on my Golf too.

Not so long ago, I went to replace my tyres and found I couldn't get the T1-S anymore, they only make the newer T1-T. I have these on the rear now but I'm not convinced they're any better and look poofy.

Can anyone come up with an alternative choice of tyres for the GT3? Or does anyone know where I can get the older tyre from?

Cheers

Were you talking about the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 or another F1?

BTW I have them on my SE with V8 wheels (235/40-17 & 285/35-18) and so far really like them. My Pirelli Pzero Rosso's were ok at first, even in the rain, but then they literally fell apart (molding defect).

I've had a number of different tyres on my GT3 - Continentals when I got it (horrendous), next Eagle GSA's (fantastic), then Michelin Pilot sports (OK-ish). I see the SW Lotus centre do Toyo T1-R's - I was going to try those next.

I'm not sure what the Eagle F1s were as it was back in 2002/3. I just remember them sliding on a bend on damp country road whilst travelling in my Golf. I wasn't going fast either.

I had the Toyo T1-s and swear buy them. I am currently running on a T1-s on the front and a T1-T on the rear. I've just had the new Bilstien and Eibach suspension combo put on and my mechanic says my GT3 is probaly the best andling Esprit he currently has on his books. So I guess I'll stick with that tyre combo for now.
