Beware the '89 ECM

I first read about the dreaded experience that KFM had with his '89 SE ECM about a year ago. A horrible nearly undiagnosible problem was, of course, not something I ever wanted to encounter. Well, after only two and a half weeks parked in front of my apartment, I have survived the ordeal.
My ECM failure came in the wonderfully deceptive form of a failed ignition module, rather than a faulty TPS. To make a rather long story short (I got to the ignition module only after two weeks of testing, balanced and blueprinted injectors, and the list goes on...) I replaced my ignition module with GM part #10467214 (sourced from Esprit Fact File) and my car idled more beautifully than ever before (it was truly a wonderful sound)... however I got a check engine light. *sigh* The check engine light turned out to be a code 41 (flywheel sensor). (oh yeah, the original problem was also still there). I tracked it down and it turns out that the new Ignition module was giving the 5V from the flywheel sensor (key on, engine off) on pin 'E' not pin 'B'.... This still is troubling me. Anyone have an answer?
On a side-note, I replaced my ECM with GM #16198267 and reinstalled the old ignition module... problem solved... but I still wish it was running as smoothly as when I had the other module in there. *mental note: new ignition module #1 on the "replace list"*
