Well I tore the engine down, and this is all new to me. I want to do it right. What gets replaced in a normal rebuild? No real wear, but the gaskets just leak like crazy.

SHould I keep the stock exhaust manifold? The only problem I see is the intake side of the turbo blades are chewed and needs replacement or rebuild. Cams, and pistons/rods/sleeves look fine. Do these sleeves leak? I guess I should remove them and reseat/seal them??

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I only worked on large horsepower Mercury outboards in the past. They where 2 stroke.

All the usual items should be replaced. Main bearings, rod bearings, rings if necessary. Did you do a leak down test before you pulled the head off?
As for the liners, call Michael of Michaels Motorsport or JAE to get your hands on the proper sealant for the liners. I'm in the middle of a rebuild and had the engine upside down to work on the crank, Liner clamps in place. When I rotated the engine back up I noticed a run of oil coming from the seat in the #1 liner. So I am resealing the liners. I was hoping I would not have to do this as the liner walls and rings are in very good shape. Arnie Johnson suggested to me that if you are in that far it would be a good idea to reseal the liners anyway because the present sealant is far superior to the original Hylomar, or what ever it's called.

I have a 91 SE

Replace the O ring on the oil pick up,(below the oil pump) and torque it down as specified.
