Anyone get this ? My 97 V8 starts perfectly and then runs slightly fast from cold for about thirty seconds. The idle then becomes so slow for about another thirty seconds that in neutral it stalls and under load it seriously hesitates and if held on full throttle, suddenly springs to full power. If it does stall, it restarts reluctantly after 3 to 4 seconds cranking and then runs perfectly. If the car is driven relatively quickly within ten seconds of the first cold start, this effect is much less noticable. It has always happened, both before and after the factory engine rebuild at nineteen thousand. The weather makes no difference. Anyone get anything like this ?

sounds like a twitchy ECU. i'm only commenting from similar symptoms on other make vehicles.

I'm having almost the exact same probelm on a '98. Hard cold start, dies 2 or 3 times before it will idle on its own. Acceleration is slow until it gets warm, and even when warm, poor accel until bi-t's kick in. Anything sound familar with this probelm?

Mine is simpler. It stalls at about 20 seconds into the warm up. (or there is a total power lack for about half a second if you floor it) This problem is worse in the winter and less severe if the car is driven fairly quickly as soon as possible after starting. Once it stalls, the problem is absent after re-startting.
