Ignition wires as far as I know are red with a white stripe. However, your car is newer so things may have changed...

Thanks for the info. in my case the ignition wire is white/red strp. and the acc/ wire is white. Will post pic and instructions incl. the relay install of the finished project this weekend. I did test the install and it works great. For all you v8 owners this is a nice add-on that fits perfect along side the other light switches gives the interior a modern look since the new exotics are going this route.

I've got a starter button button in an earler model (S4). Not sure about the wiring in the V8.

Here's a write up that I did for my car.

Procedure:

- Remove centre arm rest cover (2 screws) and move to one side.
- Remove cigarette lighter housing from centre console and disconnect wiring.
- Remove cigarette lighter – Gentle persuasion with pliers may assist here. You will be left with three wires from the lighter assembly. Constant 12V (to be used), Ground (to be used) and Backlighting (not used).
- The new Starter Button Assembly has keyed slots and so small slots will have to be filed into the centre console plastic. Take your time here so as to ensure the writing on the button remains level once installed. Once slots have been filed, the button can then be pushed in and will lock in place.
- On the pre-wired relay assembly which comes with the button, crimp the two black wires together and connect to the ground wire of the cigarette lighter.
- Remove steering column housing so as to gain access to the ignition wiring.
- Connect the Constant 12V wire from the pre-wired relay to the original 12v from the cigarette lighter.
- Connect the accessories wire from the Start Button connector to the accessory wire of the ignition loom. I used crimps here.
- Connect the ignition wire from the pre-wired relay to the ignition wire of the ignition loom. I soldered the wire here as it is where the alarm system is fed in.
- Redress the wiring, insulate any bare wires with tape, and screw the steering column housing back together.
- Plug the start button connector into the back of the starter button and reinstall housing into centre console.
- Re-install centre arm rest cover.
- Remove 15 amp fuse (cigarette lighter) from front fuse box and insert 30 amp fuse.
