Hi there everyone,

Just become a lotus esprit owner recently after getting rid of my M3 - I have to say the Lotus is a much better car

Its an 89' Turbo model, decent condition but I'm going to start working on it to bring it upto pristine condition.

My Q is, to what extent are parts interchangable between my car and the later esprit models, for example i've found a full interior from a mid 90's S4, seats etc, would they fit in my car?

Any help much appreciated

Regards,

Rob

I expect the seats would fit fine, dont know about the other components although these things have been done before.
Engine stuff is reasonably easy to upgrade, again chargecoolers etc have been fitted to earlier models but stuff like steering is getting on dodgy ground as the S4 onwards were powered. Suspension stuff too.
Fitting wheels from S4 on can be done but you have to machine either the hubs or the inside wheel to fit the front (i think it is) as the s4 on cars have slightly larger ones. again its been done and you might find a set already machined for sale somewhere.
Steering wheels would be an easy job, they are always being upgraded.

s'all I know really.

What parts of the interior are available? All will fit, but things like door skins will take major modification.

See www.lotusespritworld.com for some modifications including fitting seats, steering wheels, suspension, wheels etc from 'other' Esprits.

Hi Rob
There are a few Esprit owners up here with a few years under our collective belts, let us know if you want to meet up for a chin wag.

Cheers
