Hi,
I've just entered into Lotus ownership with a bang! I have bought an esprit V8 with "lost" service history, now I realize that this seems crazy however I got the car a bit cheaper than i should have done and have had it inspected and all seems well to be honest I was having it the minute i turned up!! totally fell in love with it, however, I was really hoping that I would be able to source the service history, the problem is is that I can't find the company that the car was serviced at (ryland Lotus) well this is the name on the Number plates. I think that may have gone bust!?

Any help or advice you can offer me will be extremely greatful.

thankyou in advance,

Anthony.

Just done the same with a 1996 P reg in green with magnolia , but min ehas a sketchy history I am building up , they are a bit of a frgile thing and luckily my pal has 2 of them so he knows the quirks etc - Just changing the rack and the radiator at the moment . bit like decorating thru the letter box - drop me a line if you want any help with any bits, mods etc
I beleive Nick Whale had some early connections with Ryland , try them - or write a polite letter with a stamped return envelope to the previous owners also call Lotus hq after sales dept and ask if the they have any info of warranty claims and who made them -- Rich

Thanks very much for your replies, good to know I'm not the only loony in the world! funny thing this car, I've always had porsches because of there build quality! this car goes again'st everything I normally go for but I think that I'm falling in love with it? all the things I don't like build quality rusting bolts etc are the very things that I also love about it? it has more character than any car I have ever owned!!! Strange.

Anyway, thanks again,

Anthony.
