Pounds, £'s or lbs?
Discussion
I was searching for Lotus Models today when I found this... www.tamiyausa.com/product/plastic/124sportscarseries/24046.html
Now I know American keyboards dont have the pound sign, but thats really no excuse from a company as big as Tamiya, why couldn't they just put "GBP" after the price like everyoine else seems to do?
Anyone heard of the Lotus 71?

Edited to add: This probably should have been poasted in General Lotus stuff section instead of here but nevermind

Just checked out The Lotus Book by William Taylor, an exhaustive run-down of every Lotus Type and Mark since Day 1 in 1948. Now, in 1963 Lotus produced the Type 27 (Formula Junior), Type 28 (Lotus Cortina) and Type 29 (Indy Car). The Type 70 (Formula A/5000) and Type 72 (Formula 1) did not appear until 1970. Why would Chapman choose a seemingly random number, Type 71, for the truck, way back in 1963?
Given his adherence to the numerical designations, why not make it a Type 28A, or even Type 29, before he wheeled out the Indy car, which would then of course have adopted the Type 30 moniker?
Of course being early April, one begins to think is this a figment of someones fertile imagination. But on reading Taylors "Full List of all the Mark/Type Numbers" at the rear of his excellent and detailed book, Type 71 is actually missing. It took him 4 years to track down an example of every designation, Type 1 thru' Type 115. No mention of the missing Type 71.
Any one out there have any ideas?
