Hi all,
I'll be off the list for a week or so as tomorrow I leave with Dave, a fellow LOON (Lotus Owners Oftha North) to drop off a '70 240Z I have sold to it's new owner and to pick up a '73 Europa Twin Cam Dave has purchased in the San Francisco Bay Area.
It will be a Hard Scrabble excursion of 4,150 mi. roundtrip, as we are planning on 15-18 hour driving days, sleeping in Rest Stops and eating on the run. We'll be pulling a car hauler with a full sized V-8 powered Chevy 4X4 Pick-up w/ all the trimmings.
It'll be hard to let the 'Z' go as I am the original owner, and it's got only 23k mi. on it, but the lady who bought it seems very excited, so I believe it's found a good home.
As for the Europa, it's definitely going to be a project car, but judging from the results of Dave's last project, a beautifully restored '77 Esprit S1, the Europa is about to embark on a wonderful second life.
I am looking forward to meeting the car's previous owner, Barry Spencer, who is somewhat of a distinguished Lotus personage in his own right and touring his shop and facilities, and maybe sampling some of the local brew with Barry and Dave in the Barbary District.
Unfortunately, I will be web deprived for maybe a week. I look forward to reading your posts upon my return. Wish us luck! Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE

When you get back the weather will be nice and temps up to the 50's. You probably will be all tired from driving so long. We will have to go out for a nice drive with our cars. Cammack has had his SE out already, Is his older Esprit running yet? It must be nice to have 2 of them.
