Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to let those of you who did not know I had just joined the board. I wanted to let you know that if you have any questions that you feel did not get answered completely, please let me know and I will make sure that I get any and all of the information that you need straight from the source, although most of the people on this board probably collectively have as much knowledge as Lotus itself!
I am a newer Lotus dealer in Atlanta and wanted to participate with the board. I have already left a few posts on a previous thread that was poorly recieved and would like to just offer any services that I may to help out.

Thank you,

Chris Constantin

Chris,

Not wishing to reignite old flames, I have to tell you that your most recent post on the other thread has left me increasingly underwhelmed. It's interesting how you have repeatedly glossed over the 8 carfax notations in the low mile S4s's history file. I just hope that other listers here do not so easily succumb to your charm.

I must tell you that since our last conversation, I have directed two customers to Spruell and they were extremely impressed. One has already purchased an Esprit, the other was directed by Spruell to Fox Valley Motor as they had exactly what he was looking for. He is waiting their reply on his tendered offer.

I am so turned off by you and your insincere sincerity that I will continue to direct people away from your dealership at any given opportunity. I rarely (read NEVER 'til this exchange)carry such a grudge, so extreme is the poor impression that you fostered with me.

I am not inclined to continue future exchange with you, so don't bother with a reply. I won't.

Hey Jim,
What are you talking about? Did you read my last post? As for 8 notations on carfax, do you have any idea what that means because if you did you would not be mentioning it. Everytime something is registered on the car, even when the title passes from the dealership to the state, it shows as one of those inquiries. Man you are really full of hate. I am trying to make things better and you just keep on coming at me.
As for Spruell, he is no longer in business to my knowledge. I will tell you what though, I could put you in touch with my last Esprit customer and let him tell you what he thought of Spruell. Or just ask half of my Elise deposit holders.
I am not trying to pry in here man, why don't you relax. Do you know how many emails I have gotten in the past 4 hours about this. Just keep on keepin' on and I will not be stepping on anyones toes.
Just out of curiosity, why do you keep making this pubilc display, you have my personal email address and phone number. I did nothing to harm you or your opinion.
I think that it would be pretty petty if you just stopped communicating with me.

Hi all,

I hope you all see how cleverly shifty this guy is. He could have ended the issue by just posting the 8 Carfax notations (most dealers have 'free' access to Carfax histories), rather, he poses hypotheses purporting that they could be harmless notations, which I already allowed for in my previous post on the other thread. This issue is still outstanding despite all his clever wordsmithing, don't be blind to this fact.

He offers 'to get' the answers for any questions you may have, except apparently, if they involve details of a car he is selling. You could all simply call Clyde Shepard or Dave Simkin at LCU directly, they'd be happy to take your call anytime. Nothing like straight from the horse's mouth as it were.

I just wish he had stuck to his pledge "Don't worry, I will just read the message boards from now on and not comment when I see posts like this....". It's nice to see that he stands by what he says. Sales must be slow at the moment.

This guy is selling, pure and simple, although he carefully employs the soft sell approach. This is something that PH prohibits in their forums anyway. It is a definite Conflict of Interest in the least.

You may get a good car at his dealership, but I believe that it would be as much luck of the draw as anything else if you did. And, you'll certainly pay more than you would for a well kept car from a private party. In either case, caveat emptor applies. Although, judging from the way this guy trips alarm bells in my head, I think it would apply especially to him.

Guys like this eventually trip up. I'll stay silent from here on regarding this thread and any subsequent contributions by, what I increasingly believe to be, this potential charlatan, and will wait until some unsuspecting buyer chimes in with his tales of woe. Of this, my confidence level runs fairly high. Jim'85TE

Can we just leave both sides as read? Chris, we appreciate your offer. Jim, we respect your opinion. I'd rather not have to lock this thread or bin it...

Thanks

Chris, I don't know what your deal is but everytime you post you're digging your hole a bit deeper. Your posts are nasty, snide and arrogant. And everytime you insult Jim you insult me as well, as I am of the same opinion as he is. I've been in the car business for over a decade now and your responses remind me of the weasels I steer clear of on a weekly basis. Maybe you're not a bad guy and your product is what you say. Unfortunately, you'll never convince anyone of your legitimacy by badmouthing other dealers and acting the way you have here.

As for someone trying to break into exotic sales and reach the Fox Valley level of class, you may want to try cutting your teeth elsewhere. Even a dog is smart enough not to s^!t where it sleeps.

Hey Silver,
What are you talking about? What did I say on this thread? Where do you guys get the idea from this thread that I am doing anything to upset anyone? I did not even say anything about any car.
As for being in the car business, what do you do? Do you sell, manage, do different product services?

Since there seems to be a fair bit of stress on the website owners/moderators due to my post (both edited and unedited) here, I'll edit it and give a synopsis.

I had TERRIBLE dealings with a Lotus Dealer in Georgia who was mentioned in a post above in this thread. So much so that I was considering not buying a Lotus at all.

The fine folks at another GA dealership, Lotus of Atlanta, have restored my faith in Lotus and the car buying process in general. I currently have two deposits with Lotus of Atlanta and and salesman Chris Constantin and would recommend them to ANYONE. Im very pleased with the level of service and treatment afforded by Eric and Chris. They have literally gone out of their way to make me happy with purchasing the Elise. For that I thank them.

If anyone who is considering buying a Lotus see's this thread and has questions as to my situation was I'd be more than happy to speak with them via email or phone.

Cheers
Jenn

Good story, it's sounds like you had one of the worst experiences. Iam glad your happier now.
I think the Jim/Chris thing must be a more personal issue.
At the end of the day, all the public want is an honest, good service from dealers whoever thay are. Iam pleased that you were able to sort out your car in the end.

Cheers,

Dave Walters

already got Lambo, got our first Murcielago two days ago. Man, beautiful. Enough about that though, this is a Lotus board I know. I am thinking about buying a 98 or 99 Esprit twin turbo.
I will post about that on another thread so people can advise me, the dealer, as I am not as saavy as most on this board.
Did you sell the other car you have yet? I have not checked your website lately.

Jennifer...

After reading your post, I have to make the comment that it falls under the category of "naming and shaming" which is prohibited by the list.

I certainly sympathise with your difficulty, but find that I may have to edit and/or remove your post. I am sure that you understand that the owners of this board may be construed as legally liable for your post unless some action is taken.

The difference between your post and the Jim/Chris exchange is that Chris is on board to defend himself, where Paul is not. I will let you know if I have to edit/delete the post.

Im sorry about that, I run a webboard too and we have the same problems. I should have been more tactful.

How about this? Can I or you go thru and put stars ****** where the dealer in question is?

I just went thru and put X as the dealer and name. If this isnt sufficent, do what you must do.

Cheers

Jennifer...

Just use the edit on your post and use the stars. If you do that, I think the post will be ok...

Thanks for your understanding! (AND WELCOME ABOARD!)

I know, I know, but since Mr. X is out of business what does it matter -- either way -- really.
