You'd put a deposit on a Lotus after the M250 debacle ? Are you quite mad ?

I have spoken to a few dealers who say they are taking what they describe as: "Letters of intent" but I doubt that these would have much value as each dealer is only allocated a certain number of cars. I know somebody who was at the Lotus stand with his chequebook the day the M250 was announced and he was number 600 on the waiting list!

I know a PHer who has something down with Lotus for the new Esprit, but he has a good relationship with them and a lot of other manufacturers so I'm not too sure what the actual deal is.

Not sure I'd put my money down for one; I'd love to have one, but I'd like to wait for at least 6 months so the teething troubles are ironed out and they have proven they will deliver a product you can drive rather than just marketing.

Yeah I know someone with a deposit down too, but they keep putting the date back and back so don't expect to see anything before 2009.

If that's your ilk, I would say a deposit for an Audi R8 would be far more advantageous (and I drive a Lotus too hehe)

I've got a letter of intent in with my local dealer, but haven't heard of anyone being asked for deposits. I certainly wouldn't put any cash down at this stage, especially as the date keeps slipping!
