As a reluctant 30-something, which I suspect many on this site are, does anyone remember the appearance on Jim'll Fix It of the Bond S1 driven by some spotty little......I mean lucky young lad, barely able to see over the wheel? Can't remember for sure, but demi-god Roger Becker may have been on hand to anoint him with his badge.
As an impressionable 9 year old consumed with jealousy at the time I have often wondered if this seminal TV moment made it to video. I bought the Spy Who Loved Me DVD recently and half expected it to be included on the "extras" section, but alas no. At the Donington show recently someone had dug up some ancient TV spot of a Proper TV Presenter Type Chappie of the Raymond Baxter school giving a 70s Elite some exercise around a track, and flogging it as a video, so its not beyond the bounds of possibility.
Another memorable Esprit TV appearance, albeit painfully briefly, was in "Minder" when actor Karl Howman played totally against type (not) as a randy (surprise surprise) footballing protege who has the rear window of his light gold S2 blown out by a shotgun weilding farmer strangely annoyed at KH servicing his daughter in a hayloft. The episode was called "All about scoring, 'innit" I believe, but I have consistently missed it on any reruns, even on UK Gold.
If anyone has these Holy Grails, would they consider posting them as a movie clip????
