Unless the court stated that you must sell the car for "X" value or for "fair market" value... you could sell it to one of us for $5.00... then buy it back for $10.00 next month (of course that involves a bit of trust in your fellow Lotus fans). A fellow round here, Fred M., did this with his Diablo a couple years back. Sure, he had to go back to court, but in the end he got the car as the court failed to state the value of the car, only ordered him to sell it and give half the proceeds to his ex... she got 5 bucks and a nasty letter...

Just a thought?

fantastic.

old mate of a mate had a mint mini that he bought his ex. divorced her due to her dishonest behaviour and was ordered to sell it and give her the proceeds. Deal was done for £5. Ex was livid. would have loved to see her face.

Divorce is a nasty ZZhit. No one wins except the Lawyers. The best way to handle divorce is to be friendly with each other, depart slowly, come to the conclusion and avoid lawyers...period!
Sell the car, give her whats due and ride the magic carpet....pufff! gone!

Note: I love this car like a child; I have wanted a Lotus (and fell in love) when I saw the 1988 white anniversaries. Over the years I have looked at Corvettes, Porsche, Ferrari but there is nothing like a Esprit, plus you can beat the price. Lotus is just exotic; the only close to it is a Lamborghini Diablo!

I must sell due to Divorce (court order) and I would do anything to keep it, it’s my baby! It must go ASAP (by Jan 4, 2007). I need $40K or best offer.

Like a baby hmmm....The car is only 7 years old. You and the wife should consider staying together for the sake of the car until the car is at least 18.

Thanks guys. I have come to the acceptance that it must go and I need to rebuild my life. It's a great car to drive, own and (most of all) show off. It's everything I always wanted in an exotic. I now have a buyer and the lawyers have just approved his offer. It will be sad to say goodbye!! cry

PS I guess I will have to live through you guys!
