Hi,
after driving my Esprit SE MY 91 with more than 100 miles/h for some time, I can watch how the wind presses the wiper up the windscreen. It changes it's off-position about circa 10 cm. Is this normal because it's a Lotus ? Or is this because my car is 12 years old and the mechanism of the wiper motor is worn-out? Has anybody an idea or practice with a little spoiler on the wiper-arm? Or is the cause a wrong wiper blade?

Cheers
Stephan

Hi, Mine does the same and it's 13 years old. It was even worse as mine used to scrape and bounce across the windscreen. Yes I think that there is a little wear but nothing to worry about. You may want to undo the nut on the wiper arm and move it across one notch. Make sure that this doesn't have the opposite effect and get caught on the edge of the glass at the bottom.
I think that if the wiper blade sits slightly above or level with the bonnet, the wind sucks it up and drags it up the screen.
Total novice, could be talking through my backside, but i'm going to try this on my car at the weekend.

Cheers,

Don't know if it will fit or not, but the new V8 wiper has a small "wing" on it that keeps the wiper in place. You may want to give it a try...

Dave I think you could be right Mine has previously been adjusted to sit level with the bonnet and had no worries creeping up at >100miles/hr. But never tried top end speeds so ??

Mine is stable to 150mph then it bounces a bit.

PS It is rumored that the windsheild trim flies off the car close to 200mph.
