I don't know if its because I've been away for 3 weeks and the car's been serviced but the cogs were replaced with green ones and the engine feels a little more responsive. Nice inexpensive mod that can be knocked up with a cam belt change.
Anyone else done this with noticable results?

Yes the green dot cam gears are the thing many are changing to. In the UK they all came with the green dot pullies for intake and exhaust. To comply with USA emissions, Lotus switched to the red dot and blue dot cam gears, which retard the timing. Changing back to the green dot originally designed cam timing should make the car a little more responsive. In theory you should still be able to pass emissions, as some have, but then again you may not...

Ok so does this mean that Crosseyedtwit actually had green dot cams to start with and has just swapped like for like ?

UK cars have red and blue too. No different to the US cars, at least on mine anyway. I have them sat at home in a box and they are most certainly red and blue dots.

The AUX pulley is green as standard on UK cars for sure.

Idle is improved and power delivery is smoother I think, maybe a tad more torque. I have to admit I havent driven the car in 3/4 weeks so can't be 100% sure but I am fairly confident its improved things. It goes like greased flippin' lightning, anyway!!!

Got tailed by a few chaps who obviously wanted to see her fly, she did. Left them like they were stationary...

Now I need a dry bit and some track time to really get used to the tweeks as well as my snug little sports seat that Geoff fitted. So much more feedback I can't believe I didn't do this earlier.

All Turbos came with 107 cams (107 = last three digits of the part number). Those cams are designed to run at a 104 MOP (Maximum Opening Point) and the 104 pulleys have green dots.

Initially, cars sold into markets that didn't have strict emissions laws were equipped with two 104 pulleys.

Cars bound for the USA Federal market still came with the same 104 cams, but other red/blue pulleys were installed in different combinations depending upon the year.

Later, most markets also got alternate red/blue pulleys as emissions requirements caught up with them.

Changing an emissions 910's cam pulleys to two 104/ green dot pulleys will improve their responsiveness and produce a bit more torque & power. It's not a huge hotrod change that instantly turns the car into a rocket, but there is a noticable performance improvement and the engine is more pleasant to drive.
