Intermittent Turbo !

can anyone help ?esprit s4 1995 (chargecooler) have what appears to be a turbo failure !!
have driven from southampton to nailsworth (glos).on occasions with full throttle the revs increase the noise also but jack in the way of performance . after being stuck in slow moving traffic on the m4 and back on open roads the full performance has returned why ??? the usual push in the back is back .what is going on will i make it home /and Cos of sportamotive in salisbury if you read this i will call you on monday |||

I'd say your wastegate actuator is sticking closed. My GT3 did that. Sometimes nothing, then whoosh, away you went.

ta to snuffy turned out to be a sliping clutch wich is fixed by replacing with a new one . and there was me worrying !! was reving o.k. but with no delivery to back wheels in 2/3/4/ gears. now in lotus hands with an upgraded clutch being fitted and me selling the big issue 4 days a week !!

A wastegate would have been cheaper but every car needs a clutch, that's the way to look at it.
