Jim

Are there shocks for my '83 Turbo besides OEM? There are SPAX adjustable shock approximately the same price.

front shock, Spax, adjustable damping, $160.95 ea
rear shock, Spax, adjustable damping, $205.61 ea

Also, can you tell me the original color of the suspension components? All the parts are sand blasted and primed.

Thanks a bunch,
louis

louis,

There are several good shocks for the Esprit, less selection on springs. I'd give Steve @ SJSportscars or Jeff @ JAE a call to discuss the various options.

Most of the suspension components were yellow zinc plated originally. The rear radius arms were raw aluminum and the front anti-roll bar was painted black. The brake calipers were yellow zinc plated as well. When I did my rebuild last summer, I powder coated these a close matching gold. Hope this helps. Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE

SJ sells rebuildable units with an adjustable springseat.

One of the dampers comes with a replacement spring to suit the adjustable seat. Can't recall if it is the front or rear.

Steve reckons that they are much better than the Spax.

I used to work at Spax and their telescopic dampers were not very sophisticated, nor rebuildable...

I'd go to SJ.
