As I mentioned in my last post getting an Esprit v. soon. Just wanted to know if it's ok to post details of the vehicle on here (like the reg number etc...)to find out if there is any "history" associated with the car that you guys may be aware of.

Hi,

The majority of the time, it's just fine to post details of your car. But, be aware that some 'Bad People' may be lurking and could misuse it.

There was a situation recently where an Esprit was put up on eBay complete with VIN number and pictures. The listing called for a deposit of 15% immediately after the close of the auction. It turned out to be another guy's car who had no intention of selling it. The 'Bad Guy' merely used it to get the deposit, a fair sum when you're talking about an Esprit.

Now, of course the actual owner of the car was under no obligation of any kind, but it demonstates one way such information can be used. Happy Motoring! Jim '85TE

I would cal Lotus USA with the vin and they will tell you all work done at Lotus dealers on that car. Also run a Carfax to get more data. Then if you are serious have the car inspected.
