Thinking about the new Esprit, if you could change one thing about the existing car, what would it be? (Being reasonable from an engineering point of view)

The badge, ah only joking, I love the badge. It would have to be the transmission like ernest suggested.

The tranny is an easily interchangable part. What about chassis rigidity. The tightening up of the whole car would make a big difference and the gearbox can be 'got round'.

Have to admit the gearbox is the obvious choice though...

The doors opening to much & crunching on the wing as the steel strap is to long.

Thats it, I can live with everything else.

as beautiful as it is, i'd change the chassis. it is way too flexy for my taste. it needs more double curvature to make it stiff enough.

The jacking points could certainly be better.

The rar is fine but the front is so hard as the jack won't go under the chin!

I do not put much stock in the rear either as they seem to be unable to hold the car due to the lack of "hard" points behind them... and the mettal parts seem to easily fall off the cars...

I gave up on them long ago, they twist the body and put god knows what stresses through god knows what. I use the chassis under the gearbox at the back with a thick wad of cardboard to protect the galvanising. Then I put magazines stacked/taped up either under the wheels or under the jack points both sides and lower it on them, no twisty stresses and safe for looking under.

At the front I use jacks but I use 2 jacks and wind them up a bit at a time.
