Well, the decision has been made. The Lotus is coming out of mothballs, and I'll be back on the road in April.

The Red Rocket (as my friends have dubbed her) is going in for service and chargecooler pump repairs just as I regain my right to drive in Virginia this month (DON'T speed in Fairfax county!!!!!)

The insurance, suprisingly, is going to manageable, so we've decided to put her back on the road. I just moved very close to work (vice my previous 60 mile trek, each way) so she'll now be the daily driver. It's a dream come true.

Officially, the car is still for sale, but instead of an active firesale, I've shifted modes to driving it myself until I get exactly what I want for the car. I anticipate holding on to it for a while.

I can't wait to get it in and out of Jamie's shop, and getting my license back, because I'll get to show this excellent Lotus specimen around the DC area.

Look out VA/MD/DC, cause Mike and Andy (AZZKICKER) are about to be back in action!!!!!

Mike,
Glad to see you are back on road soon. I sure hated to see you leave the Lotus the way you were going to do. It could have been worse, since this is a UK site I'll use their terminology. Being banned from driving must suck.

At least we do not have to deal with those darn speed cameras. Just get yourself a good detector, it has kept me from many a ticket.

I had live in one of the only states where it is illegal to run a cloaking device. Well in the early years it was great as MN was home to the company that invented effective radar scrambling, those passive ones that many sell now just don't work. The company that makes the active scramblers is still around but is prohibited from selling them in this state.

Regards,
Calvin

Actually, I had a Valentine 1 detector up and running, but the shifty enforcement official was pacing me in my blind spot from the service road next to the toll road I was on.

The news keeps getting better. My new insurance agent just called to tell me the actuals for the Lotus were much much less than the estimate he gave me yesterday.

I swear, next thing I know, Jamie's going to find gold bars under the bonnet when he does the B service.

Can't wait until March 24th...drivers licence...ohhh yeah...
