Hi all,
I'm kinda new here so let me introduce about me briefly.
I'm S-Korean came England last year for my degree and buying an esprit. (degree was my excuse to move to UK)
I took a test drive an S4 in Korea and then you probably know what I felt.
Now I'm planning on spending about 20~22K on an esprit.
I've got a simple and complicated question.
Which model will be the best choice with my budget between early V8(96?) or late flat4(S4)?
P.S. Sorry for my poor english.
My car was a corvette C4 and an Elan when I was in Korea.
So I'm kinda ready for 300bhp and Lotus handling.

There are some private V8 can be had for late 18-19K upto 25K. Do a search on the Autotrader Website but make sure that you do a nationwide search.
S4 is probably what i'll for next, so buy one of these, keep it for 12 months and i'll buy it from you hey (make sure you look after it for me!).
GT3, I believe are very good alround cars. Some people say these are the best alrounders. 240BHP but weight has dropped a lot, so very quick. Stock ones I think don't have rear wing on but you could always add one at a later date.
Adrian Mugridge has one of these. Look in the owner pages and e-mail him for his opinion. I wouldn't mind one of these either. So Adrian, look after it for me too!
In my opinion I would like a V8 but I think the running costs could be a little more expensive and they are more thristy. Could be wrong though.
Best advise in to e-mail a few S4, GT3 and V8 owners. I'm sure they will be more than happy to give first hand experience of each car, then you can make your own mind up.

Gun,
My site is www.adrianmugridge.co.uk It will tell you a bit about owning a GT3 and what it will cost to run. One thing that has been talked about recently on other boards is that it may have more like 250bhp and be quicker than Lotus stated. The reason for this is that it was £20K cheaper than a V8 in 1996, and Lotus did not want to undermine V8 sales. This could of rubbish ofcause !! Also, by spending £1K - £2K you should be able to get 300bhp out of a GT3. Reprogrammed ECU, BOV, rerouted air intakes and a larger intercooler and better exhaust. Mine is standard but will soon have a reprogrammed ECU.
Also, pre 1998 cars have the old style interior ( like an S4/S4s ), after 1998 they get the new interior. The wing is not standard, neither is A/C or leather seats.
