hi can anyone help me,looking for a s2/3 v8 powered esprit
Discussion
i have liked these cars for ages now,but always been in to hot rods, tvrs etc etc, recently just sold my gen 3 mazda rx7 which i fitted a sbc and th350 in,and now fancy something different for a bit of a project...so i am looking for a s2 or s3 esprit with a rover or chevy engine, prefer a driver/complete car but anything considered...someone must know of one sitting around,or parked in a cold dark garage...lol,thanks nigel bearnigel@yahoo.com
Your quest should not be fruitless. I don't know of any S2 or S3 cars with V8 engines and the total number of cars built has always been small, but....I can remember at least one article in the Club Lotus magazine by a bloke who spent all his spare time putting V8 engines in a variety of cars. So you should find one if you try hard enough. Failing that, do it yourself. There's plenty of room in the chassis.
If you feel like doing a conversion yourself then have a look here as I have just started a V8 conversion on my S3

There was certainly a black S3 doing the Ebay UK rounds a couple of years back. It had a carbed Rover V8 and IIRC made £4500 last time I saw it...
I contemplated RV8-ing mine when the twincam broke but it would probably have been as much work and expense as fixing the original engine. I got as far as making a template of the engine to bellhousing bolts...
