Thoughts on tyre choice
Discussion
Tyres seem to be just about the most important component on your car, but anyone have thoughts on what’s the best choice for an Esprit?
I have a 1998 V8 GT on runs on a set of 350 Sport Oz magnesium rims (235/40 x 17, 295/35 x 35) and I’m in need of a set of tyres, but which to buy?
I know the 350 Sport was supplied with P Zeros, but I’ve looked on the Pirelli web site and it tell me that the front size (235/40 x 17) is only available in the ‘P-Zero Nero’ design and I am not sure if that is suitable.
Bridgestone do the RE 050 which I think was standard fitment on the Ferrari Enzo – has anyone tried these?
What about Dunlop, Yoko and Goodyear?
As well as changing the tyres I have a few other jobs to do this weekend. ITG filters, Pagid RS15 pads and after weeks of waiting my custom made Pace aluminium radiator has arrived. I’ll let you know how I get on…..

Eagle F1s are a popular choice, certainly mine.
