September edition of Top Gear contains a free DVD of James Bond car chases. Inevitably it's just a taster (as they want you to buy the movies) but does contain about 40 minutes of material. It includes the submarine shots of white Esprit although not the land based helicopter chase. There's nothing of the two Turbos featured in a later film. Good footage of Mach 1 Mustang if you favor a little American muscle!

I still have the centre of the steering wheel from that car after a visit to Pinewood Film studios as a lad

Most excellent!

It's easy to forget the Esprit was launched when normal mortals were still driving around in Triumph Heralds, Ford Escorts, MGBs and Austin Maxis.

As seen last Sunday at Beaulieu National Motor Museum as part of the Tunnel Run With a Twist.
