I'm going to have a look at a 1989 Esprit NA this afternoon, I have never sat in, let alone driven one before so I'm just wondering what to expect/look for.
Cheers
Robert.

Look here

www.lotusespritworld.com/EBuying/driving.html

and also have click around the Beginners section of the same site. With an Esprit, condition is everything. As well as good external appearance you need a full service history and should avoid anything with a tatty interiors.

agreed on the full service record. i've saved so much time knowing what has already been replaced and when. good for piece of mind too.

I've Just got back from having a look at it. It has a service history file about 4" thick, the exterior, interior, engine and gearbox all seemed to be excellent but it needs a total suspension rebuild, a new radiator and exhaust.
Not the car for me, I think I'll save up some more and get a much newer one, maybe a GT3.

Not too far away at all. I am 4 miles from Friockheim and do a bit of work stuff in Forfar. I have a mate with a Black Westfield MegaBusa who lives in Alyth. Small world!
