Some of the paint has flaked off the top of the motor and I would like to re-spray it.

Can anyone tell me which paint I should use? and who might carry it.

Thank you for the assistance.

www.sjsportscars.co.uk will tell you where to buy it from if they don't already stock it. Steve is extremely helpful there. 01363 777790
otherwise take it to a paintshop and let them do the chasing

I use Rover vermillion to touch up the red cam cover & chargecooler paint on my S4s.

It's a perfect colour match but of course it's not wrinkle finish.

This site sells red & black wrinkle finish.

If it's not the right colour red you can always overspray it with vermillion

Hi,

Chrysler make an engine paint which is a near perfect match and is a krinkle finish. It only comes as a brush-on style, but any local paint store can fix it into a sprayer for very little money. Works great! Happy Motoring! Jim'85TE

I've also got a flakey head....

I've just ordered some red crackle paint from Frost in Rochdale.

I have been told that it is suitable for the job, but whether it is the right colour remains to be seen.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Pat.

I bought some wrinkle finish paint from Frost in Rochdale.

The red is much too dark to compare with the standard orangey red, so I haven't used it on the car.

Testing on a sheet of steel produces a nice wrinkle finish which looks quite durable. The finish is just like the paint on the car.

I am undecided whether to try painting over with Vermillion or whether to try and get some of that elusive Chrysler paint.

Anyone know of a supplier in the UK?
