I've wondered whether there's a rear light conversion for a pre93 without having to change your back end like this?
I know this pic looks a but tacky with the overlay.
Oh, borrowed pic from Kato's Esprit, hope it's OK Kato. Will remove if it offends.

Cheers,

Didn't know if this is what you might be looking for:

Not an exact duplicate of the 2002, but it requires no "fettling" of the rear...

Why make it in three pieces?? It would look so much better as one.

One piece is proabably more expensive to set up (how many sets will he sell, anyway?), produce, ship without damage, etc. Also, the middle piece can be sold separately to anyone who wants to upgrade from the old-style ribbed plinth.

Just random thoughts. I agree that one piece would look nicer.

With the Lotus approved one piece design you have to grind the away at the rear trim to get it to fit. This design is a "plug in replacement" for the old lights and plinth. I am sure you could have someobody fill in the gaps if you like...

...FYI, I like the one piece better myself but the thought of grinding into my baby :shudder:

My TR7-V8 has round lights fitted as used on the Diablo and in recent years I think Ginetta have used them. I'll let you into a secret if you promise not to tell. They cost appx £12 each from CF Parkinson in Nottingham. I think I found them listed in the Hella catalogue. You may find also them in stock at Lamborgini but expect to pay more the £12. Each light is appx 3-3.5" diameter and one third of the lense will be for another application ie indicator or reverse or fog etc. So you have to choose the lenses for your application

The conversion kit looks good but no where is there any mention of price , availability , shipping out of the country or most importantly if it comes with the lens assemblys.
More info would be good.

I think that the site has an email address if you are interested. Personally, I like the looks of the "Toyota" lights on my '98. It's kind of the "purest" in me. I would love the round lights if my car were a 2002 (or better yet a 2003 ).

There is always the option to order the Lotus part, but you would have to grind away the excess to fit the part. To me it is more trouble than it is worth...

all IMHO

Steve @ SJS will do a complete round light kit for £480 plus VAT. If you give him a call he will be able to explain better.

He also advised me that due to heavy demand any fiberglass components may not be delivered till mid may.
