1 of my mates (username ceebmoj) is looking at purchasing a 15 year old esprit V8 (approx 1987/F reg but on private plate).

Basically, can anyone suggest any areas of particular importance to look for, or if anyone is in Edinburgh area then that could be even better.

Cheers

Pete

96 in the UK. I have heard of a few prototype V8's in G cars but I don't know if they ever made it out to the public after testing. I suppose it could have made it into private hands, but unlikely. Unless it is of course a conversion like a few in the USA I have seen.

eh.... Ok... Haven't seen it myself yet....

Can't get him on phone just now. Anyway -other than a screwed up possibly wrong engine or probably wrong spec sheet anything to watch for -or has anyone done a "buyers guide" type thing previously. I think he's going back to see/drive it again on Tuesday anyway.

Cheers

Pete

Pete, I am over the bridge in Fife - don't actually own one yet but am something of an Esprit fanatic. I would suggest your mate has a chat with Graeme Robertson at Murray Motors in Sighthill, Edinburgh, our nearest Lotus dealer. Good guy (puts up with me window shopping every few weeks!), knowledgable and may even know the provenance - there aren't that many Esprits in Scotland. He may even give it the once over for a small fee if you ask nicely.

Cheers for that Mark, I think he has already spoken to Graeme in the past, not sure so will pass his name on though. Also cheers to Ernest, I have pointed him at those web sites.
