Just fitted a new Horn & Compressor today in the dark. Started about 5PM (dusk) and finshed at 6PM. The main bolt holding the horn bracket was completely rusted and took me about half an hour to get free. The rest was very easy even for me being a novice!
The PO must have had a problem with trying to get the original one off as there were two sets of twin horns in there! Both sets were knackered! New horn kit was less than £16 from SJ. Had to use a torch (flashlight) to work with. Once a get the itch to do a job, I have to do it there and then.
Apparently the horns are always failing. This is probably due to it's location.

I kept my old ones after pumping hot water and soap with a pump and flushing both hurns they worked so I kept them as a spare.

There's nothing left of mine. They have disintergrated! I could believe it, one fell apart in my hands! Seeing as the whole kit cost £16, I didn't mind too much about thowing them away.
Next job, either headlights or paint wheels. Let you know how I get on. Time is difficult at the moment, can't get a minute on it, that's why I had to fit the horn in the dark
